A birthday is a step up in life,

You progress, you grow and become wise

You may think you are aging and growing old

Life seems elusive and fast tracking with every year

If a goose would refuse to spread its wings where would be the gosling?

We celebrated G’s birthday a quiet dinner , cake cutting and lots of pictures. Sometimes we think having a big celebration , throwing a huge party , wearing new clothes , buying expensive gifts should be the way for celebrating birthdays. Well I used to think the same but lately a desire for simple pleasures precedes any extravagance.

I like to keep it simple and live by the principle less is more. Cooking, decorating , reading , playing cards with kids , sitting in the backyard swing day dreaming , watching movies brought from the library and writing not only gives us space to unwind from the daily grind of life’s relentless demands but also has a calming effect on the so-called busyness that we are surrounded day in and day out.  Now remembering the soothing lullaby my mom used to sing to calm my nerves as a kid..takes me back into nostalgic years of pure wonder and contentment.
